Tomatoes Are a Kind of Fruit
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
In the fraught aftermath of a breakup, Tom makes an impulsive decision that takes him back to the quirky queer seaside town he grew up in, to reunite with an old flame. From childhood best friends, to first-time lovers, and finally, just two people who keep failing to stay in touch, neither is sure what to call this thing they have between them anymore. Time has changed them both. Does the label even matter?
A queer romance featuring a transmasc love interest. It's also about how breakups suck. And depression. And chips.
Featuring: a sad protagonist & his hot tiger ex, who maybe still have feelings for each other? Lots of excuses to get naked! Exhibitionism and nudism, and the space between the two. More silly English town names than you can shake a stick at!
Warning: NSFW. Contains explicitly sexual scenes and also brief mentions of self-harm and intrusive thoughts.
My first visual novel, developed solo for Nikko's Love + Attraction Jam 2025, with some much appreciated feedback from my partner. Go check out the other submissions!
Unfortunately the original story I planned grew so much larger when I sat down to write it, much more than I had time to complete for this jam, so this is more like a first chapter. I plan to continue with the story after the conclusion of the jam. I hope you'll stick around.

really enjoyed reading this. setting is quite interesting, found myself relating to it alot. wish there was more of this story
Thank you for your comment, it really means a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and that you could relate to it. I'm currently working on a second instalment, and though it's taking longer than I'd like, it's set to be sizable longer than the first part.
This is amazing so far! I'm amazed at how well written this VN is. The prose is so expressive, and the characters have such strong personalities. The plot is very interesting too, I'm looking forward to seeing more of it.
Thank you so much! That's incredibly kind of you to say. I'm so happy you enjoyed it, it really means to lot to hear feedback. I'm working on the next instalment!
Does this feature a trans guy and a cis guy? Or a trans guy and enby? Asking because I curate some trans romance collections that I like to share around :)
The point-of-view character is a cis guy and the primary romantic interest (the tiger in the banner and screenshots) is a trans guy :)
Thanks!
